About Shugars Art 207
Who is Deborah Shugars?
Deborah Shugars lives with her husband in the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine. Since retiring as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she has returned to her passions of music and art. Deborah formed her own Band, The Shugars Band. She also went back to making beautiful art after not painting for almost 30 years. Deborah is a self-taught artist and is painting and selling her art on her website and around the State of Maine. Deborah never runs out of ideas for paintings because of living in such a beautiful area. Deborah uses several art mediums, including watercolor, watercolor and pen, gouache, and acrylics. Deborah loves to paint nature, children, and often has whimsy in her artwork.

My Inspiration
"My inspiration for my artwork comes from scenes or memories that evoke emotions. I have always taken photos over the decades of raising a family. I also take photos when my husband and I are out on a nice walk or exploring a new place, or on vacation. I have a file of photos I have taken labeled 'potential new artwork.' My own yard is full of beautiful nature as we live in a rural area with beautiful trees, flowers, hens, our kitty, and a large variety of birds and wildlife. As I paint.
